Privacy Policy

This page tells you exactly what data MyIPInfo (myipinfo.cc, myipinfo.cn) sees about you, what we do with it, how long we keep it, and what we don't do. The short version: we don't make you sign up, we don't sell your data, and we delete your IP from our logs within 30 days.

1. What we collect

1.1 Your IP address

Every request to our servers includes your IP address — that's how the internet works. We use it to display your IP back to you on the homepage, run the privacy checks you asked for, and write a temporary access log on our server.

1.2 Standard request metadata

Along with each request we receive:

• Your browser's User-Agent (so we can show you "Firefox on Windows")
• Accept-Language (so we can pick the right UI language)
• The URL you visited and the timestamp

We don't run browser fingerprinting scripts. We don't probe your fonts, plugins, canvas hashes, or any other passive identifier.

1.3 Cookies and local storage

We use the smallest set we can:

• theme in localStorage — your light/dark preference. It stays on your device only; we never see it.
• Analytics cookies set by Google Analytics or Baidu Analytics (see §3). Block them with any privacy-focused browser extension if you prefer.

We don't set tracking cookies for our own purposes. There's no "advertising profile" being built about you here.

2. How we use the data

• Show you your IP and geolocation — the immediate purpose of the page you opened.
• Run the privacy checks — VPN detection, WebRTC test, DNS check. These happen when you visit; results are not stored.
• Prevent abuse — basic rate limits and anomaly detection use your IP and request patterns.
• Aggregate statistics — how many people use the site per day, which tools are popular. These are anonymized counts, not records about you.

3. Third parties

• Cloudflare sits in front of our domains for CDN and DDoS protection. They necessarily see every request. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
• Google Analytics is loaded for visitors outside mainland China. It uses cookies. See Google's privacy policy.
• Baidu Analytics is loaded for visitors inside mainland China. It uses cookies.
• Adsterra serves the banner and native ads you see on the page. Adsterra may set its own cookies. We do not enable popunder, push, or social-bar ad formats.
• MaxMind GeoLite2 is a static file we host and query locally; MaxMind does not see your IP.
• ip-api.com is used as a fallback for ISP and region names on Chinese-network IPs.

4. How long we keep it

• Server access logs (with your IP): up to 30 days, then permanently deleted
• Anonymous daily counts: kept long-term for trend graphs
• IP correction reports: kept as long as the IP is in our database (so we know why a correction was applied)
• Geolocation lookup cache: refreshed at least every 30 days

5. What we don't do

• We don't sell your data to data brokers or anyone else.
• We don't build a profile of you across visits for our own purposes.
• We don't load tracking pixels or fingerprinting scripts.
• We don't require accounts, emails, or any identifying information.
• We don't run popup, popunder, push, or social-bar ads.

6. Your rights

Because we don't link IPs to accounts and we delete logs within 30 days, there's not much data tied to "you" here. Still:

• You can ask us to delete logs containing a specific IP — send the IP via the channels in §8.
• You can ask for a correction to any geolocation entry, with or without the in-page Report button.
• EU / UK residents have rights under GDPR / UK GDPR. We act as data controller for the data we collect; you can file a complaint with your local supervisory authority directly if needed.

7. Children

MyIPInfo is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect data from children. If you believe we have, please contact us and we'll delete it.

8. Contact

Privacy questions, deletion requests, or correction requests can go through:

• The Report button on the homepage (for IP-specific corrections)
• The channels listed on the About page (for everything else)

9. Changes

We'll update this page when our practices change. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Major changes will be highlighted in our changelog.
